"We are shaken, but we are not forsaken"
And from the church’s tower, this is what I saw that day - I saw people run toward, not away from, toward the explosions, toward the chaos, the mayhem, toward the danger, making of their own bodies sacraments of mercy.
On Thursday, April 18, 2013, Rev. Nancy Taylor spoke during Healing Our City: An Interfaith Service at Cathedral of the Holy Cross in the South End. The service brought our community together in the wake of the tragic events at the Boston Marathon on April 15th. President Barack Obama was in attendance, along with federal, state and local officials. First responders, civic leaders from communities along the marathon route, medical personnel, victims and their families, as well as volunteers from the Boston Athletic Association were also in attendance.
